James Whorton Jr. is a former Mississippian now teaching at SUNY Brockport. He has published three novels, and his short stories and essays have appeared in magazines including The Gettysburg Review, The Iowa Review, The Oxford American, The Southern Review, Sewanee Review, Mississippi Review, SWING, and Chicago Quarterly Review.
Karla Linn Merrifield has 16 books to her credit, including the Psyche's Scroll, a book-length poem about a woman's triumph over societal abuse (Poetry Box Select, 2018). Merrifield, a National Park Artist-in-Residence, is on the staff of The Songs of Eretz Poetry Review and has long served as assistant editor and book reviewer for The Centrifugal Eye.
